(Sikorsky Model 42)
26" x 16"
Charcoal on board
undated

Drawing is beautifully matted, framed and ready for presentation! (photos available on request)

NC822M was the first of 10 Sikorsky model 42's delivered to Pan American. She was delivered in the late spring of 1934 and was known as the "Brazilian Clipper" then later the "Columbian Clipper" due to servicing routes from Miami to both Central and South America. She was retired in 1946 after serving faithfully for 12 years. She cruised at 150 mph, had a range of 1200 miles and carried 32 passengers in total luxury. Although not dated, all indications are that the charcoal was done by MacGilchrist between, late 1934 and early 1935.

The watermark that appears on the web images are not on the prints.
